While in N'awlins this week, I happened to catch the Celtic folk act of Beth Patterson. No doubt many of you are familiar with her work; I was not. A wonderful composer, entertainer and troubador, she performed a wide range of new and old Celtic material with her own compositions thrown in as well. She is also an accomplished bouzouki player and has adapted a wide range of techniques to fit the eclectic nature of her repertoire. If you get a chance to see her, take it. She was to leave yesterday on tour and will appear at several spots on the US east coast. I don't have her itinerary and the site where I found her photo isn't current as she now does a solo act.Well worth the trouble.
