CS - a TV programme last year identified 10 ways to help lose weight, based on research and measurement of people...

1.Serve food on a smaller plate to reduce appetite
2.Eat 3 meals a day – don't skip or you will crave high calorie food
3.Count calories – keep food diary, count everything (really, everything, it's amazing what people think doesn't really count!) - eaten or drunk
4.Substitute lower calorie versions for higher calorie ones
5.Eat soup to keep stomach fuller for longer - the research indicated that people eating a certain combination of foods as solids and taking liquid separately felt hungrier sooner than people eating the same combination of foods as soup
6.Eat lean protein to feel full for longer
7.Eat high calcium low-fat dairy products to increase excretion of visceral fat
8.Limit choice to avoid overeating what's available
9.Exercise to burn off fat as well as carbohydrates
10.Move about more to use up energy
