Ms. Rutledge, it is adequate. I have the golf club directly behind the house, which makes it somewhat more bearable. There is the occasional shooting party -- pheasant and grouse, with stag at the right time of the year. Riding, of course, abounds. But to sit on the veranda at evening, sipping port or perhaps a good single malt or even the local beer (which is quite good) while watching the sun slip behind the purple mountains which, although 120 miles or more away, have suddenly become "in your face" as they say -- THAT is worth the lack of some amenities.
