Subject: RE: BS: Diet stories
My nutritionist knows that the day I arrive wearing my 1978 midcalf fuchsia skirt, I'll be close to my intended weight. I can wear the skirt, but it doesn't sit on my (current version of a) waist. It sits a few inches above, which doesn't look good & is not comfortable.

My last boss always wore her above-the-knee skirts at the same level, with blouses that often popped the buttons ("Nice bra you're wearing", I'd say) - not a very professional look, & surely not comfortable. Which is why I don't wear clothes I can no-longer fit into.

following the thread drift above - speaking of young folks & fashions ...

living in Sydney;s entertainment precinct, I see zillions of young folks dressed in their best for their Big Night(s) Out - many girls wear short, tight little dresses (is the tug-at-mid-thigh look fashionable where you are?) & ultra-hight heels with platforms - their dresses are normally low-necked & usually sleeveless, & never a jacket in sight! Many of them don't even carry a bag. They wear the same styles winter & summer.

well, one wintery night I saw the best ever sight - girl striding along on high heels & wearing what looked like a fine semi-sheer white cotton business shirt, wrapped at the waist with a belt or sash - barely covering a pair of white boy-leg knickers!

I wished I was a Very Old, White-haired Old Lady & could say to her "Excuse me, dear, did you know you left your skirt at home?"

Based on a "Punch" cartoon of the 1920's where such a LOL was at the beach & asking very bemused fashionably dressed sunbathers did they know that the moths had got into their bathing suits. The latest fashion was for large cutout areas in the suits to get maximum suntan. But us white haired LOLs aren't expected to know the latest fashions!
