Well, Ed, I suppose this is an anti-boast.

I'd take my shabby old Savana banjo which, although old, was probably a POS when new and it is now too. But it's my 'throw in the van' instrument, I love playing it, and as I heard somewhere, "nothing wastes time like a 5 string banjo"

Incidentally I'm in a very similar place to Jack Campin regarding the ud so I'll make that my No. 2. Looks like it might float nicely too...
