I allow 2 hours from Altrincham, but that's with Aged P's on board who need to stop halfway for cups of tea and loos. I go via Chester, Wrexham, Oswestry, Welshpool, Llanfair. There is a shortcut from Llynclys, just outside Oswestry, but you'll need to check your map.
