Thread Name: Fylde, who's going?
Subject: RE: Fylde, who's going?
Is it over? Could well be - Charley's visit extended the occasion by a couple of extra days with the good weather continuing - although it doesn't look so good for the Blackpool fireworks tonight. We had a good one anyway & thanks to everyone who supported us and for making DEMDYKE! even more of a success than last year. For those who wanted a disk please contact me at sean@sedayne.co.uk - hopefully there'll be something downloadable at Folk Police soon too. Otherwise, happy to say Demdyke's Mother Carey's Chicks features on the forthcoming exconfd volume of John Bareycorn Reborn - the wonderfully titled We Bring You a King With a Head of Gold - along with Rapunzel & Sedayne's Robin Sick & Weary and Sedayne:Sundog's Names of the Hare.

So - great festival, great music, great people, great weather - only one sour point but we won't go into that; rest assured the folk scene is too small (& life too short) for such grudge bearing & unprevoked hostility. Excellent thriving singarounds hosted by Ron, the lovely Norma and Lynn, Spitting on a Roast and special mention must be made of the redoubtable Joe Boe who stepped into Penny Black's shoes with customary panache (get well soon, John - our thoughts are with you). Thanks to Derek Gifford for making The Big Sing & In the Tradition the memorable sets they were; to Niamh Boadle for truly exquisite musicianship; to Jim Diamond for moving me to tears with his reconstruction of High Barbaree; to Sally for keeping me enthralled for hours in the Marine Hall bar; to all at The Steamer and The Mount for great food & hearty welcomes; to Simon for the sound; to Dave Jones for being the cosummate MC; and to Alan Bell, Rusty, Stu and everyone on the commitee, without whom...

See you next year? Let's hope so!
