We've been going through trunks to find family photos for my daughter's costume design research on 1906 Connecticut. Jackpot - school photos of my great aunts from about age 16 to 19 (photos dated 1903, 1905, and 1907). The sports team photos (girls basketball) would be of school girls dressed how they go to school, but the graduation photo would be how they dress up to look their most grownup. Finding something in between (every day grownup) can probably be extrapolated between the two. And photos of school age young men and college age young men. I love it! Also found a muslin slip from that era, a great clue to how you can take plain fabric and make it look much fancier by putting in pleats or tucks.
