Helen, I was elated to hear about Cathy Freeman on the BBC Radio news broadcast we get here. I don't watch much of the Olympics on tv, but that I would love to have seen.

Too bad it seems everything has to get reduced to money, doesn't it? I also heard that some of the athletes from tiny East Timor practised weight lifting with cinder blocks, just so that they could build up and qualify; their country has so little money to support their efforts. Maybe there should be some kind of fund to help out the athletes of smaller countries instead of so much being spent on the extravaganza of the openings.
