My experience with e-tickets for events has basically involved standing in a line clutching my e-ticket to redeem it for a "real" ticket, then standing in the other line for admission to the event. The e-ticket line is often longer than the last-minute, pay cash admission line. In these circumstances, it is vastly preferable to get a ticket in the mail.
