I seem to remember an LP with a bare-chested Stan Wilson holding a hammer on the cover. Of course, "John Henry" was on that album. Something like Verve Records I think. Good polished voice. Better than Josh White vocally but not as intense or roots in character. Less guitar too, but it was a more produced pop sound for the most part. Maybe even something on Stinson Records---that old red vinyl. I think most of those had been 78 rpm records first. I seem to recall the song "Eggs And Marrowbones" too.---------Yes, a real blast from the past. But I never met or saw him personally, and have no info on where he might be now. These are 50 year back memories you've got me dredging up. But now I wonder if it was actually Josh White...? Don't think so though.
