Didn't read the whole thread, but I agree with most of the choices here.I would mention "Lord of the barnyard" by Tristan Egolf. Terrific. It will leaves you speechless, as I am.

Did anyone corrected Max? It was Saint-Exupery who wrote "The little prince".
