Well, I'm enjoying watching the events. There's just something about the exhilaration of physical achievement that really intrigues me...(kinda like Jonathon Livingston Seagull) and the training that goes into all the preparation, truly inspiring...and so many participants who have overcome injury through "aggressive rehabilitation"...and the adversity that many have known which is completely foreign to me...

The press coverage of various feature articles can be a bit hokey, but I have a sincere desire to know the personal story behind as many participants as possible. I too was very cynical about a local person who achieved what I thought was a frivolous physical endeavor...until I learned more about her personal history and character. It made me realize that there was much more to her than I had made the effort to see and understand.
