J-boy and I met 12 years ago in a local bar. I was there for the house band, it was a very typical, noisy Friday night, and I noticed this guy off in a corner by himself reading. I was really curious as to what he was reading, so I went over and asked. He was reading Patrick O'Brien's Master and Commander, and we sat and talked about books that evening. We were both regulars, so we bumped into each other every Friday and Saturday and became friends. One night he asked me what I was doing the following day and I told him not much, probably just laundry. He then asked me if I maybe wanted to do something, something with him, but not really a date and he was looking out the window the whole time. I said sure and shocked him to no end. We ended up going to the Maine Maritime Museum and then out for Mexican food and we've been together ever since.
