Thread Name: Tech: Problem with Firefox 3.6.10
Subject: RE: Tech: Problem with Firefox 3.6.10
GUEST,Grishka... using keywords was simply an attempt to find out what the problem was. I originally had 00FF00 defining the link colour in the header, and it's been that way for many years without any issues.

I didn't 'goof my tests', as I was responding to someone who pointed out there was a problem when they tried to view the page. If you'd read the first line of my opening post you might just have realised that!!

The tag works fine with both IE8 and Google Chrome, so Firefox clearly has a bug, as it appears to interpret all the other colours correctly. Think before you write!

As I don't normally use Firefox, I asked which version they were using and they said 3.6.10 (latest version at the time of writing). I downloaded and installed it, and found I had the same problem - 00FF00 showed up as black, as does any 'green' keyword.

As a 'links' page is really only there to improve the website's rankings on search engines, I shan't lose too much sleep over it. The 'newsletter' page is really the only page other than festival info that people are likely to spend time on, and Lymm is a thriving club, so the website is really only intended to keep our regulars informed - and they get paper handouts every week.

Had the site been primarily a marketing tool I may have been more inclined to take some of the above comments on board, but you cannot seriously believe that a local folk club is likely to pick up much traffic from a website?!!

Posters in local libraries and plugs on local radio do the job quite well, thank you... and at least our newsletter page (and downloadable 'where are we' RTF file ) is kept up to date quite some way into the future... trying to fill our Diary Dates on 'Sounds of Folk' (Oldham Community Radio 99.7fm Mondays 7.00pm) is made very difficult by the many club organisers who cannot be bothered to keep their sites up to date!
