Well, I don't know the song you mention but I do recollect Oh! What a Beauty! UK Music Hall I think, which I heard many years ago.
Oh! What a beauty!
I've never seen one as big as that before.
Oh! What a beauty!
It must be three feet long or even more.
It's such a lovely colour, and it's nice and round and fat,
I never knew a marrow could grow as big as that.
Oh! What a beauty!
I've never seen one as big as that before.
Spoken (metrically):
I was leaning on the garden gate the other day,
When I beckoned to a lady who lives across the way.
I took her down the garden path and showed it her with pride,
And when she saw the size of it the little lady cried.
I mean me Marrow!
I've never seen one as big as that before.
Marrow is prounounce "Marra" throughout. Heard on BBC Radio Round the Horne longer ago than I care to remember. There's probably more but I don't know it.
