It was actually Justin Currie (of Del Amitri)...I watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

In the middle there was a touching moment. It was refreshing to observe Chris Difford openly weeping when Justin Currie sang 'If I Ever Loved You'. Moreover as he wiped the tears away to then go on explain (candidly and without embarassment) exactly why the song had had that effect on him. As he said....that's the power a great song can have sometimes. A lovely moment.
