The power stations will provide for settlements in the Arctic for the people needed for oil/gas and mineral exploration and production, to service shipping through ice-free passages, and allow Russia to dominate the Arctic region which borders Europe, North America and Asia with its exponentially expanding markets. Oil/natural gas will continue to be major fuels for the next 50 years, and the major base for plastics.

Mining centered in the Arctic will provide the minerals needed for the northern hemisphere.
