For background, the "standard lyrics" were popular enough to be recorded in my mother's high school "autograph book" by one of her classmates sometime ca. 1924 - 1927. Apparently most of the kids of that era knew them well enough to have sung them folkishly(?).

A few other bits of "doggerel" that were apparently popular then also were in the book; but I don't know that any of the others were set to tunes.
