Thread Name: BS: CatConcerts on HearMe?
Subject: RE: BS: CatConcerts on HearMe?
Whew. I stand amazed at the road this has travelled since I first posted the idea. As far as I can tell: a)everyone likes the general idea; b) most seem to feel that a special room for the occasion might be a good way to go; and c)volunteers to do the first few concerts seem to be Mbo, Doesterr, and me (or Woodchucks Revenge if I can set it up). I originally had in mind about a standard 45 minute set as a good thing to shoot for. I also had Thurs. nites somewhere in the back of my mind as being a night that would not infringe too much on regular HearMe activities. Concert time might be from 8:00 to 8:45 or so, Eastern Standard Time, again because that seems to be a not very active time on HM. Since this was my idea originally, I would be willing to solicit and schedule performers, at least for the first few tries. I do have some questions, however.
1)I have no idea at all how to go about setting up a special room. what needs to be done and how?
2)I like the idea of archiving the concerts somehow, but am not sure how this can be accomplished. Ideas?
3)What can we do to insure a fairly good sound quality?
4)Will someone volunteer to handle "publicity"?
I would think that it might take a week or so to iron out the details, but I would like to just go ahead and try it. I am confident that if I have missed too much that is obvious or come to some boneheaded conclusions that folks will inform me of the error of my ways.
