Well that was interesting. Still don't like the woman though. She provokes the same reaction in me as Ewan does, I like and admire what they did, and the heritage they share, but I don't like her as a person. I suppose my view of Peggy was coloured by the first time I met her, in a folk club in Hamilton in Scotand, in the very early 60's I think it was. I heard her swearing in the 'Green room', and unlike today, a woman who swore then,was a rare thing, and I was shocked, at the time. Nowadays I find a lot of younger women and girls more foul mouthed than many of the lorry drivers I worked with. I also found the sound at the beginning of the programme very poor quality, and it was hard to hear what was being said. Why Radio 4 has this love of playing music in the background, I don't know, but it's bloody annoying.
