OK, maybe "string rebound" is just a result of my overactive imagination, combined with a distractible personality. I have no enlightenment, and all I have to argue with is my own questionable perception. I still fiddle with my knobs, despite my admonitions that "it's close enough for jazz".WhistleStop, good suggestion, though I'm already a committed string yanker. It runs slightly contrary to "tuning up to the pitch" but I think that it does provide more pitch reliability.
