Affinity states are not objective; a parent is very likely to be attracted to his own baby for a whole bunch of reasons you would not subscribe to. That doesn't make his perception of attractiveness irrational; it simply makes it individual. The notion that the subjective is irrational and the objective alone is rational is a profound error.
