It looks like question 1 is answered but maybe I can help with 2 and 3:

2: One way is to go from the line out on your sound card to a tape recorder. I think you could try recording to computer but I am pretty sure that you would not be allowed to speak (Recording device in use error) and there may be other technical problems that I have not thought of.

3: You are pretty much at the mercy of all sorts of factors, the biggest one being net traffic. If the sound is going to break up, it will do and there is nothing that can be done about that.
