Jigs are in 6/8 time, counted one two three one two three, very fast ( slip jigs are in 3/9)some jigs for example the Long Note are in 12/8 , but can be played as a real if you like. reels are in 4/4 time hornpipes are in 2/4 as are marches Strathspeys are a mistery they seem to go along normally for abit and then tripple their spead for a bit and then calm down again
