I believe it was Ben Franklin that said something like those who trade their freedom for security have neither ... or something along those lines.

I also don't think it does a thing to help security ... the elderly lady next to me on the aircraft with a bag of steel knitting needles yet you cannot bring a pair of fingernail clippers ... what the hell is that all about ...


You cannot bring a zippo lighter but matches is just fine ... and the nonsense list goes on and on ..   You cannot bring alcohol because someone could start a fire but you can bring the highly combustible hand sanitizer
