Thread Name: BS: flying - full body scan revised
Subject: RE: BS: flying - full body scan revised
Well, I'm more concerned about the accumulated radiation from these full-body scanners than about TSA agents seeing my bulges (natural or otherwise).   I've read that it's not clear that the amount of radiation delivered to your skin by these scanners is insignificant in the case of frequent flyers. Yet I don't want to risk missing my fight because of having to be taken aside to wait for a TSA agent to be able to get around to patting me down.

If I thought these and other rules, such as not being able to have a bottle of water or shampoo or a tube of toothpaste in my carry-on luggage, were keeping us safe, I'd feel different. But there are so many, many ways one could get a lethal weapon or even bomb-making materials onto a plane despite these restrictions, that I see these hassles and restrictions as just part of the right-wing strategy to make us "be afraid - be very afraid."
