Thanks for the Gerry info folks. What stands out to me is that they didn't have a clue they were creating a masterpiece. I know Declan O'dougherty, who was the engineer on the album and he says "oh it was an ok session, pretty good, no great anecdotes or anything".

T'is my fave pop record of all time.
