Davie is a song writing genius, a man of wit, humour and a wonderful understanding of the Scottish psyche.
Possessing the observation and emotion of Burns combined with the wit and humour of McGinn, Davie has not yet received the recognition which he deserves.

His most popular song, the brilliant love song of a hard man,"Star o' the Bar", has been covered by many, but Davie prefers the version by Irish traditional singer Rosie Stewart.

He says that he never though it would be an Irish woman who would best interpret a Scots sang.

Davie has printed out many of his songs on his site and allows their performance by anyone who cares about Scottish music.
