Yes. that is why birds turn their heads sideways to look at you. They need both eyes in a position to be able to judge depth of perception.

Stare directly at a bird "suddenly" while standing still and it will fly off without even turning it's head.

But, there is a trick, actually three, to counteract their flight if you are hunting or photographing them. Someday, I will publish these in my book.
