I just finished reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn", and this song is mentioned several times in it. I was born in Brooklyn and was familiar with almost all of the songs referred to in the book. It made me feel "at home"-ish in a way I haven't felt for years and years... My mom used to sing the jazzy version after the standard version when I was growing up, and I've spent a lotta time tonight searching for those jazzy lyrics. Now I have to memorize it!
