Hi SS I agree with the first part of your comment but disagree with the second part.

Both my wife and I are now on statins - since moving on to them our cholesterol levels have fallen into the target levels for the UK.

Though we do eat reasonably sensibly we can now indulge ourselves in some of the "naughties" we both like without any increase to our cholesterol levels.

However I am not advocating that eating fruit and vegetables don't make a difference to keeping healthy as does some form of exercise.

We eat a good proportion of our intake in fruit, vegetables and fish regularly. We also walk a lot - at least three or four miles every day.

When we do relax this our weight goes up but not our cholesterol. But if we go off statins .....whoosh up she goes !!!
