When I was a little girl we didn't have a telly so I didn't get exposed to *too much* of the gender stereotyping that saturates the media (such as on TotP with Pan's People for example). What I did have however was an amazing book full of photo's that I liked to browse. I recall in particular one lovely young woman with sparkling eyes, her head completely shaved, an intricate tracery of scars over her face, and a brilliant smile displaying her teeth all sharply pointed like a cats.
