Bizarre though it may seem, I am entirely in agreement with Jim. Susan appears to be subletting a room to a total stranger. That is not without its risks. Why is their being a traveler relevant? Try substituting Negro, Jew, Christian, Muslim, Hispanic, Irish, Canadian, Welsh, Mexican, Man, Woman or any other subset of humanity that you feel you have reason to distrust and see how comfortable you feel with the question.

Judge the individual, not the category they belong to.
