I imagine that last about the leafletting ban would probably have been in the shopping-mall. These places are in many ways civil-rights-free zones.

Basically it appears that the management can stop people doing anything they choose to ban, in ways that a local council, or a national government would not be able to do, and there is no kind of public accountability. They are not really part of a free society.

I'd prefer it if events of this sort keep away from this kind of setting - except maybe in defiance of the rules, which could be a bit hairy.

That is not meant as any criticism of this actual operation in Liverpool, just a tentative suggestion for the future.
