Turned out that Alaska had passed this really dumb ordinance/law that an establishment has to 'verify' each person's legality in order for them to buy even a beer.
I read the statement they gave me and said, It says you have to verify that I'm old enough. It does not say that you have to look at my drivers license. Look at my face. Doesn't that verity my age?
He mumbled, Could I see your drivers license, please.
