Subject: BS: It's not Big Society, it's Big Business
It's possible to forget after a long period in opposition just how feckless and amoral the Tories are, luckily with them now in power with their deservingly hapless Aunt Sally's the Lib Dems we get reminders as they gleefully piss away and sense of social responsibility or even the impression the plight of ordinary matters a jot to them.

In an astounding move(as reported by The Grauniad), they've invited fast food companies, processed food and shite sugary drinks manufacturers to help formulate the government's health policy. Perhaps most disturbing of is the fact the chair of the alcohol responsibility deal network is... the head of The Wine and Spirit Trade Association, the body "representing over 310 companies producing, importing, transporting and selling wines and spirits." They recently rejected calls for restrictions on advertising their sweet-tasting, liver-destroying crap as according to them: ""Alcohol Concern's claim that advertising of alcohol drinks leads to higher levels of drinking among under 18's is not supported by the evidence." despite Alcohol Concern stating flatly on their website "analysis has concluded that a complete ban on alcohol advertising could reduce monthly levels of youth drinking by 24% and youth binge drinking by about 42%".

You couldn't make this up.
