Back when I was in high school (in the days when all homework was written on clay tablets) my English teacher made the comment that 9 out of 10 people would instantly be able to complete the Lewis Carroll verse. So, always ready to challenge authority, a friend and I memorized the verse and went out to see how many adults would be able to come up with the whole verse.I guess we had a particularly dim set of adults in our high school. Our count was 2 out of 10. And the English teacher did not appreciate our efforts!
