Subject: RE: Cornwall floods
Hi folks. Thanks for all the messages and texts etc. Yes I am fine. I had water under my front and back doors this morning but as I have slte floors therev was no damage except for the odd wet rug. The lane at the bottom by the lower farm is still under water tonight and the road up to the main road is still flooded all the way down and running like a river. In Rilla Mill the water is over the arches of the bridge so it must be up something like 15 or 18 feet. Lots of debris about. The 2 maih roads were both closed near here which meant that all the traffic was being diverted through the lanes around me. It gets quite interesting when 2 artics try passing each other whn you can only just get a car down so many of the side roads came to a standstill.
My only casualty seems to be Byron who seemed so traumatised that she couldn't stand this morning. She is happy and eating and bright eyed and very interested in what is going on but just can't stand. She is in the garage tonight and if she's not ok in the morning a trip to the vet will be in order.
Lostwithiel and St Austell were both very badly hit and there are concerns tonight about the safety of the 13th century packhorse bridge in the towm over the river.
will keep you posted
