Mystery solved!

I've been on the phone to track down graduation photos of my son. We realized that neither parent received a proof and the offer to buy the shot on stage when they get the handshake and diploma. I got the company name, his sister is in their system, but he isn't. Chances are he's the victim of a typo, so we need to have their clerk (who is in later today) go through and look, or I'll go look at the proofs and point him out. It would be a great holiday gift (I think I gave Moonglow's grad photo as a gift four years ago).

It's a lovely cold day, down to about 40 last night. Late next week it looks like a freeze is predicted, so this weekend may be the last hurrah for much of the garden. And it means I'll liberally clutter my freezer with peppers. I'll give green tomatoes to my friend or neighbor who make relish. (I found a recipe for green tomato mincemeat and sent it to the canning friend. He said he doesn't like mincemeat and that it is way too strong for him. I'll take his word on it and not fool with that. Green tomato relish is wonderful and that's good enough for me!)

I just called that neighbor, she may not be able to make it this year, but we talked gardening and I have a couple of other things she can use. For a source of estrogen or the estrogen effect, she apparently orders chaste berries, the seeds on the purple chaste tree (also called vitex, and I have several in the yard). I'm going to go pull the berries off the ones in a stack next to the drive before I put them at the curb for the trash. They should be nice and dry after a couple of weeks off of the main plant. Last summer I gave her one of these plants, and I remember now that is why she wanted it.

Planning to shop for a ham and try to finish my Thanksgiving shopping early in the week next week so I don't have to fight the crowds. I'll also go through the xmas stuff and find enough good sets of lights to use to wrap the limb in the pot. I will post a photo of that, once I get a good background for it.
