Truman gave the go-ahead for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the pretext that it would end the war sooner. I think that was a wrong decision and don't agree with it. The Japanese would have surrendered without having to usher in a nuclear bomb era. No one knows how soon they would have surrendered but the cost of Uranium on Hiroshima and Plutonium on Nagasaki was too great for humanity to bear.

If you dug him up today he probably would not have supported the START treaties.
