Thread Name: Music Hosting Websites: Alternatives to MySpace
Subject: RE: Music Hosting Websites
"Where is your music hosted?"

I used to have a Music MySpace, till I ditched it.

"What is your experience of the site? What features does it have? What limits on what you can upload? Ease of use?"

I *quite* liked it. Not a bad place to link to other folk enthusiasts, though it was mainly useful a pro/semi-pro portfolio than as a virtual community for amateur enthusiasts - which is one of the reasons I ditched it. Limit of uploads to ten, which isn't as much fun for the amateur who - unlike someone who needs to sell their music for a living - has no need to limit free public access to their full portfolio of songs.

"Would you recommend it to others?"

To other amateurs? Perhaps not, a tad restrictive IMO.

"Anything else?"

As said elsewhere - I rather like the look of Boden's blog, I might give that format a shot instead. A blog gives one the opportunity for general associated ramblings - or indeed images if you're a bit of an artist or photographer - and offering lyrics too, all in the same posting.
