My kitchen counter is looking wonderfully clear, the only things on it now are the microwave against the wall (moved it here from a table so I could take the table out), and my pan and stuff for slicing green bell peppers from the garden. A large baking pan just went in the freezer.

My computer desk contents doesn't fit tidily into anything, and the equipment attached to my computer are spread out over three or four levels and surfaces. The back of the desk has a colossal collection of cables and electric plugs and extra USB ports. Printer, scanner, speakers, two protected power supplies, two external hard drives (one for backup, one for recorded books and movies), at least three cables (camera, phone, mp3 player) and I'm sure there is more. When this new computer arrives I think I'll move a television out of the room, the CPU has a TV receiver. At first when I was looking at the options I could add, it seemed silly to have a tv in the computer, but then I realized that with it would come software and the ability to record, edit, burn to DVD. And I have been needing to plug my VCR into the computer to do just that with old family stuff and programs that never came to DVD. I have a device that can work with an older computer and XP, but Win7 doesn't play nicely with a lot of older software and devices.

I also have a stainless steel ruler the size of a small sword - 24" plus the handle. It's inch and cm on one side, but the other side, the agate and picas side, is why I use it. I work with InDesign and printing presses still use those measures much of the time.

Back to the kitchen. I reorganized my side-by-side freezer in conjunction with the veggie processing, and found a few things that can go back over in the big one because they're not needed often. There should be room to freeze a couple of smaller trays of some of the red peppers (still bell, but they're red, and I'll keep them separate to use as accents).
