Just to clarify a few points.

In a recent radio programme of Peggy remeniscing she said (approx) "Oh he always said he wrote it over the telephone, but I never believed that" and she also said "He stopped singing it when I started singing it". Nothing was said about him recoding it, though they played snippets of her ver version.

OK I heard it from the horses groom's mouth (er I meant bride).
