The Pacelbel canon is a piece of early classical that has been used to excess in films, television commercials, children's dance recitals--most people would recognize it, but(and this is part of my problem) don't know its name. The piece itself is based on a distinctive four measure melody that descends, scale-wise. The piece repeats this phrase with superimposed melodies and counter melodies that are variations of the original melody--the tempo is very stately, and the time signature is 4/4.
I am not sure if "Je danse le Mia" is the song I am looking for, because about three years ago, made the record clerk in a Carrefour play bits of each track on a "Greatest Hits" CD and it was not there.
WAIT--SIMON-PIERRE!!I have a great idea--send me your e-mail address and I will send you a MIDI file of the Pacelbel Canon!! Then you can play it, and tell me if it is the same song!!
