When I was in grade school, the school library had a wonderful book of Manx folk tales. It was called, as I remember "The Manx Cat and Other Folk Tales". Besides the tale of the Manx cat losing it's tail because she was late boarding Noah's Ark. (Noah's wife finally called her the way my grandma taught me to call cats, by hissing ssspssspssspss.) There was the story of the Fenodree, and a wonderful tale of a fiddler who wound up playing for one of Satan's parties. If anyone could reccomend an anthology that wasn't written for 10 year olds, I'd appreciate it.
