The morris side I use to belong to used to award a ' pub of the year'. This seemed to be well liked by the landlords and most of them would display the certificate. One of our chosen pubs was mentioned in a magazine as ' an award winning folk pub'.

I think anything that raises the profile of folk is a good idea.
