Well I do try to avoid the BS threads even though they are often the funniest thing on the Cat ... But realizing that there are kindred spirits and Birkenstock graveyards in other closets than mine was irresistible!!!

Jen, I was so glad to hear that someone else wears them (with socks) in the winter! -- Have done that for about 6 years.

Can you have them resoled after you wear down the right heel right into the cork from wearing them while you're driving? (I have a little pad that's supposed to protect my shoe heels when I drive. It may actually help but they all come to ruin in the end.)

Bill just said he had a pair of earth shoes. Bought them in DC in Georgetown at the Earth Shoe Store in 1975 (really!)
