Oh Okay, thats cool.

I have a hand made Morgan McKay Dulcimer from the early 70's, before he got into a mass production phase and pumped out dulcimers for a mass market. I guess every one has to make a living though so I dont begrudge him that although the instruments from that period that I come across over the years almost always lack that certain "something" in the sound that the earlier dulcimer models had.

Apart from some new machine heads and a couple of extra frets, my McKay is in original condition and works just fine. It does have a few construction oddities like a split two piece back and three different timbers: spruce, mahogany and Maple? Not too sure about that last one which was used on the back but the combination resulted in a fantastic tone for the instrument. A couple of years ago I had a friend of mine in Western Australia make me a new case for it out of an old piece of Jarrah, another wonderful timber.

Morgan used to live in a place outside of Melbourne called Belgrave when I knew him. Nice to know he is still around and now living in Warburton where i occasionally get the chance to pass through.

Morgan's hair was black when I last saw him :-)

Cheers,

Andrez
