I was able to welcome a brand new niece into the world yesterday. She is beautiful and healthy and oh, so sweet. . . .

. . . She also has Down Syndrome.

So it is a bittersweet time. My brother and his wife are still reeling, but the little sweetheart couldn't be more loved.
